Centipedes are nocturnal arthropods that only roam at night. They tend to hide in dark damp places around sinks, closets, bathrooms, basements, and places usually infested by other bugs. They are not normally seen by humans because of their nightly movement. They place their eggs in cool, moist soil in the spring or early summer in a predator free area, and can live up to 6 years. Centipede bites can be painful, but despite being venomous creatures, they are not typically dangerous to humans.
